Accompanied by the refreshing autumn breeze and the sweet fragrance of osmanthus, the passion of China's best vermicelli—Lusheng—gathered everyone together on this beautiful autumn day to hold a grand event. On the morning of October 13, 2019, the award ceremony for the Lusheng Cup "My Story with Vermicelli" essay contest was grandly held at Shandong Huatao Food Co., Ltd.
Attending the award ceremony were: Niu Zhongshun, former Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Weifang University; Zhu Jianxia, member of the China Writers Association and one of the first contracted writers in Weifang; Li Xiaomin, former Vice Chairman of the Anqiu CPPCC; Zhu Jinsheng, Deputy Director of the Anqiu Municipal Propaganda Department and Chairman of the Municipal Federation of Literary and Art Circles; Li Lianke, former Director of the Anqiu Cultural Bureau; Cui Guojie, Deputy Secretary of the Party Working Committee of Xin'an Street; Pan Hongxin, President of the Anqiu Poetry and Couplets Association; Zhou Qingwu, Party Branch Secretary of the Anqiu Writers Association; as well as numerous award-winning authors, media reporters, leaders of Lusheng Group, and all employees of Huatao Food.
Celebrating a prosperous era with brilliant words, chasing rhythms with strong winds, composing magnificent chapters. To fully explore traditional food culture, enhance brand effect, promote corporate culture construction, and foster harmonious and rapid development, Lusheng Group, in cooperation with the Anqiu Federation of Literary and Art Circles, Weifang Daily, and the Anqiu Poetry and Couplets Association, jointly held the "Lusheng Cup" "My Story with Vermicelli" essay contest to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China. From April 18 to August 8, 2019, the contest received a total of 403 essays, over 500 poems, and 2040 slogans from across the country (submissions came from all provinces and cities in mainland China except Tibet and Qinghai). The wide coverage and large number of submissions, along with the deep affection for vermicelli, were touching. The organizing committee invited famous writers and poets to form a jury to anonymously review the entries based on quantity and quality. After preliminary plagiarism checks, the entries were comprehensively evaluated based on theme, writing skills, innovation, and corporate culture, selecting outstanding works with a principle of choosing the best among the best.
The entries in this contest were close to life, with delicate touches and many excellent works. The writing styles varied: some humorous, some sentimental, some full of love for vermicelli, some affirming, praising, and blessing Lusheng Group, and others evoking memories related to vermicelli. These poems were concise and clear, with many lines easily touching the heart, such as: "After school, I often sneak a look at the vermicelli drying in the sun, drooling when passing the fence. Now I hear there is Lusheng vermicelli on the plate, no worse than those days." Many excellent slogans were also received. "Inheriting a century-old craft, creating high-quality vermicelli" was a major achievement of this essay contest.
The entire award ceremony was intense, orderly, and enthusiastic. There were also wonderful performances at the ceremony, such as a 75-year-old lady performing the clapper talk "Lusheng Vermicelli is Good," and an award-winning author reciting the modern poem "Lusheng Vermicelli, Lyric or Monologue." The whole process revolved around expressing emotions and intentions related to Lusheng vermicelli.
